How to wash polyester fabrics?

What is polyester anyway?

Polyester is a widely used synthetic fabric and it is not without reason. The fabric remains beautiful for a long time because it has a strong quality and the colour does not fade. This allows you to optimally enjoy the fabric.

Sweating in polyester?

A frequently heard disadvantage of polyester is that the fabric does not breathe properly, so you sweat it faster in it. This is not true: natural materials absorb moisture, synthetic materials (such as polyester) do not absorb moisture but send it out.

This way, moisture can evaporate without leaving marks! Polyester is often used for sportswear, because the fabric does not feel damp and you therefore do not get cold after exercise.

On which program should I wash polyester?

Synthetic fabrics can shrink at high temperatures, but a cold or delicate wash program is not necessary for polyester.

We advise you to wash your polyester fabrics at 40 degrees. You do not need special detergent for polyester, and you can choose whether or not to add fabric softener.

Polyester remains its color very well, and you can wash light and dark colours together.

Polyester in the dryer?

You can put polyester in the dryer at a low temperature. However, our advice is not to put clothes in the dryer but to hang them hanging.

The fabric dries super-fast, and when your clothes hang up there will be fewer creases. In addition, it also saves on energy costs.

How do I get wrinkles out of polyester? Do you need to iron polyester?

If you have creases in polyester, you can iron them at a lower temperature (up to 110 ° C).

To save yourself ironing, we advise you to hang your clothes. You do not have to iron polyester, because it is a crease-free fabric.

However: note that if the percentage of polyester decreases, the fabric will crease faster.

Washing polyester coat, comforter and curtains

You can wash, dry and iron your polyester jacket, comforter and curtains in exactly the same way as indicated above.

Always check the label of the product, because polyester is often mixed with other fabric types and may therefore have different washing instructions.
