Kimono

Wilma Lieben
After her training at the Academy of visual arts, Wilma practiced, researched and explored with many different techniques within visual art. Sometimes accompanied by other visual arts artists. Each time she tried something else she came back to painting on silk, now enhanced with designing of silk fabrics. She incorporates this painted or printed silk into unique kimonos, other clothing, scarves and more.

Inspiration
Wilma also likes to make pictures. Because of this she began using her own pictures to create fabric designs. Especially pictures of nature are a huge source of inspiration for her. She can use all her creativity with this. During her travels through Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and Vietnam she consciously searched for images she could use for fabric designs. Image, colour, composition and small details, an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration.
